What does it truly mean to be Christian? What is the essence, the core of the Christian message about humanity, the world, and God? How can we communicate the joy, grandeur, beauty\u2014as well as the challenge and adventure\u2014of this message to others in today\u2019s world? And what is the particular role of a Catholic university in this evangelizing mission?\r\n\r\nThe course has four specific educational objectives:\r\n
    \r\n \t
  1. To grasp the essential content and richness of the Christian proposal\u2014its worldview\u2014centered on its understanding of God, the human person, and the created world;<\/li>\r\n \t
  2. To understand and appreciate the fundamental role of Christianity in shaping Western civilization;<\/li>\r\n \t
  3. To analyze the characteristics of postmodernity and thereby engage with the dynamics and challenges of evangelizing contemporary culture;<\/li>\r\n \t

    Target Audience <\/strong><\/h3>\r\nVice-rectors, directors, department heads, professors, and administrators of the universities that are part of the Regnum Christi International Network of Universities (RIU).\r\n\r\n\u00a0<\/strong>\r\n

    Admission Requirements and Academic Credit <\/strong><\/h3>\r\nThe selection process is managed exclusively by the rectors of the RIU. The course confers 5 ECTS credits.\r\n\r\n\u00a0<\/strong>\r\n

    Methodology and Program Structure <\/strong><\/h3>\r\nThe course, which lasts 10 days and takes place in Rome, includes three types of activities:\r\n
      \r\n \t
    1. Morning classes<\/strong> focused on the systematic study\u2014historical, philosophical, and theological\u2014of:\r\n
        \r\n \t
      • the notion and importance of the reality we call \u201cculture\u201d;<\/li>\r\n \t
      • the various elements of the Catholic worldview, particularly its vision of the human person and society, the physical world, and God;<\/li>\r\n \t
      • the analysis of the current state of our society;<\/li>\r\n \t
      • the challenges of contemporary evangelization.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t
      • Cultural visits<\/strong> around Rome and its surroundings in the afternoons, to observe the various ways in which this Catholic worldview has been \u201cincarnated\u201d throughout Christian history.<\/li>\r\n \t
      • Religious activities<\/strong>\u2014daily Mass, the opportunity for confession, and a day of pilgrimage\u2014to foster ongoing conversion through personal and sacramental encounter with Christ.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n \r\n
